1. Summaries are not the source
Each card distils a single finding from a paper. A card is only created when the key number appears verbatim in the paper's abstract, the paper is not marked retracted, and the study type can be determined. Even so, a summary necessarily leaves out methods, caveats, populations, and context. Always read the original paper, which every card links to, before relying on a finding.
2. Use your own judgement
Nothing on ScholarDeck should be used to diagnose or treat a patient without your own independent clinical assessment. Evidence changes, individual patients differ, and guidelines vary by region. You remain fully responsible for any clinical decision you make.
3. No endorsement
Inclusion of a paper, journal, author, or finding on ScholarDeck is not an endorsement of it. Appearance in your feed reflects your chosen specialties and general interest, not a judgement about clinical validity.
4. Not for emergencies
ScholarDeck is not for medical emergencies. If you or a patient may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
5. User content
Posts and comments express the views of the individuals who wrote them, not ScholarDeck. We do not verify the accuracy of user-generated content.
