Background

CONTEXT.—: Quantitative image analysis (quantitative image analysis) is increasingly applied for immunohistochemistry (immunohistochemistry)-based biomarker assessment in pathology.

Purpose

OBJECTIVE.—: To compare HER2 scoring accuracy and reproducibility by expert pathologists and quantitative image analysis in breast carcinomas analyzed with different immunohistochemistry assays.

Methods

DESIGN.—: Algorithm parameters of the quantitative image analysis method were developed by using 183 slides from 6 Nordic immunohistochemical Quality Control (NordiQC) HER2 runs.
