Purpose

To evaluate the efficacy of a minimally invasive punctum-preserving canaliculotomy combined with RS-type silicone tube (RS tube) intubation for treating primary chronic canaliculitis (primary chronic canaliculitis).

Methods

This retrospective study included 62 patients (62 eyes) with primary chronic canaliculitis who underwent the procedure between October 2020 and September 2022.

checked at 12 months, tear-duct passages stayed open and unblocked in nearly all eyes

All surgeries were completed within 30 minutes under local anesthesia, with successful tube placement in all cases.
