Background

Fentanyl and morphine are commonly prescribed opioids for cancer-related pain; however, the comparative associations between these agents and clinical outcomes in critically ill patients with malignancies remain unclear.

Purpose

This study aims to examine the associations of fentanyl versus morphine with delirium, length of stay (LOS) in the intensive care unit (ICU), and short-term mortality in this population.
