Improvement of wound healing after diabetic foot debridement by a novel high ankle block: a randomized controlled trial.

Arterial flow volume, peak systolic velocity, end diastolic velocity, time-averaged mean velocity, and time-averaged maximum velocity were significantly improved in the high ankle block group on days 1 and 7 (all P <0.001).

The high ankle block group also had significantly higher foot skin temperatures ( P <0.05), lower visual analog scale scores ( P <0.001), and lower opioid consumption ( P <0.001).

No significant differences were observed in reoperation or amputation rates.
