Background

Implant-based breast reconstruction (implant-based breast reconstruction) is the most commonly used technique for oncological breast reconstruction.

Methods

A systematic review of the literature and comparative meta-analysis were performed to assess the differences in complication rates, patient-reported outcomes, and aesthetic satisfaction between patients undergoing implant-based breast reconstruction with round or anatomical implants.

n = 2535 patients

no meaningful difference in complications between implant shapes

OR 0.46 (95% CI 0.14 to 1.48)
