Background

Ventricular arrhythmias (ventricular arrhythmias) are common after implantation.

Purpose

The purpose of this study was to identify the incidence of and risk factors for ventricular arrhythmias in the first 6 months after self-expanding transcatheter pulmonary valves implantation.

Methods

The multicenter SERVE registry included self-expanding transcatheter pulmonary valves implantations at 25 U.

n = 513 SETPV implants

Results

37% of Alterra patients had ventricular arrhythmia after implant, versus 26% with Harmony.

At 6 months, predicted probability of ventricular arrhythmias burden decreased below baseline for Harmony patients (-6%; 95% CI: -10% to -2%; P < 0.001) and to baseline for Alterra (P = 0.53).

This large multicenter registry study of the natural history of ventricular arrhythmias after self-expanding transcatheter pulmonary valves implantation showed ventricular arrhythmias to be frequent during the procedural admission, with Alterra patients having more ventricular arrhythmias than Harmony patients.
