Background

Regarding anesthesia management for high-intensity focused ultrasound (high-intensity focused ultrasound) treatment of uterine adenomyosis, existing research is limited.

Purpose

This study aimed to determine the median effective concentration (EC 50 ) and 95% effective concentration (EC 95 ) of ropivacaine combined with sufentanil (0.5 µg/mL) for epidural analgesia during high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment of adenomyosis.

Methods

This prospective study ultimately included 29 patients with adenomyosis undergoing high-intensity focused ultrasound with intraoperative epidural analgesia.

Results

Ropivacaine concentration achieving adequate pain control during high-intensity focused ultrasound in 50% of patients.
