Minimally Invasive Segmental Scleral Buckle as Primary Surgery for the Repair of Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment: A Descriptive Case Series Study.

In this small, consecutive case series from a tertiary referral centre in Indonesia, segmental scleral buckling achieved favourable anatomical and functional outcomes at 6 months, with no redetachment or serious complications.

The procedure was well tolerated, and in our resource-limited setting, the material costs were lower than those of encircling buckling or vitrectomy based on local procurement prices, although we did not conduct a formal economic analysis.
