Background

Comparative evidence on robot-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty (robot-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty) versus laparoscopic pyeloplasty (laparoscopic pyeloplasty) in pediatric ureteropelvic junction obstruction (ureteropelvic junction obstruction), particularly regarding postoperative anatomical changes, differential renal function (differential renal function), and urinary tract dilation (urinary tract dilation) stratification, remains limited.

Methods

We retrospectively reviewed 63 children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction who underwent Anderson-Hynes pyeloplasty at a tertiary center between 2018 and 2022, including 21 robot-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty and 42 laparoscopic pyeloplasty cases.

Both robot-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty and laparoscopic pyeloplasty provided favorable short- to mid-term outcomes in children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
