Background

Medullary thyroid carcinoma (medullary thyroid carcinoma) is a neuroendocrine tumor that often expresses somatostatin receptors (somatostatin receptors).

Purpose

This study aims to evaluate the detection rate (detection rate) and clinical management impact of somatostatin receptors PET/CT imaging in patients with medullary thyroid carcinoma.

Methods

A total of 14 studies (comprising 350 patients) were eligible for quantitative meta-analysis.

Results

About three in four patients had recurrent or metastatic disease found on scanning.
