Adolescents with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis reported significantly higher levels of bullying victimization compared with controls (p = 0.001).

No between-group differences were observed in depressive symptoms, anxiety, self-esteem, or bullying perpetration (all p ≥ 0.05).

Within the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis group, greater curve severity was associated with poorer quality of life, more negative body image, and higher social anxiety (all p < 0.05).

Higher trust in people (odds ratio = 4.02, 95% confidence interval: 1.56-10.34, p = 0.004) and pain severity were also associated with increased risk.
