Adults undergoing LVAD implantation were stratified into six cohorts: no chronic kidney disease, chronic kidney disease stages 1-2, stage 3, stage 4, stage 5, and end-stage renal disease (end-stage renal disease).

Following adjustment, chronic kidney disease stages 1-5 showed no significant association with major bleeding.

In conclusion, end-stage renal disease represents a high-risk phenotype characterized by significantly increased major bleeding and in-hospital mortality.
