Health-related quality of life in children with chronic kidney disease: clinical predictors and ROC-derived thresholds for impaired HRQoL.

Children with chronic kidney disease demonstrated significantly lower health-related quality of life across physical, emotional, school, psychosocial, and total domains compared with controls (all p < 0.001).

Within the chronic kidney disease cohort, lower eGFR and higher blood urea nitrogen remained independently associated with poor health-related quality of life in multivariable analysis.

The within-chronic kidney disease risk model incorporating eGFR and blood urea nitrogen demonstrated moderate discriminatory performance (AUC 0.728) for identifying high-burden patients.
