Purpose

This study aimed to evaluate blood pressure profiles in children with isolated renal ectopia by using ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ambulatory blood pressure monitoring) to determine the prevalence and patterns of hypertension, and to explore the relationships between ectopy subtype and kidney function.

Methods

Clinical and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring data from 24 children with isolated renal ectopia followed between January 2024 and January 2025 at Çukurova University Department of Pediatric Nephrology were evaluated.

Of 24 patients (66.7% male), 75% had simple ectopia and 25% had crossed-fused ectopia.

Mean age was 11.3 ± 3.7 years.

The crossed-fused renal ectopia group had a higher prevalence of vesicoureteral reflux (P = .009) and lower eGFR (P = .01).
