Background

Habitual eyebrow and forehead elevation when opening eyes can occur in some healthy single eyelid groups, which has a negative impact on individual appearance and psychology.

Purpose

This study investigated the efficacy of combining blepharoplasty with levator palpebrae superioris release to correct involuntary eyebrow and forehead elevation in 90 patients with single eyelids.

Methods

From March 2019 to March 2020, participants were randomized into 2 groups: the control group (n=45) received conventional open double-eyelid surgery, while the observation group (n=45) underwent the same procedure with adjunctive levator palpebrae superioris release.

Conclusion
