Among 3579 adolescents aged 12 to 19 years, the prevalence of myopia was 30.5%.

Participants in the highest triglyceride-glucose quartile had higher odds of high myopia than those in the lowest quartile (OR = 3.04; 95% CI: 1.05-9.25; P = .042), whereas no significant association was observed for mild myopia.

Restricted cubic spline modeling suggested an increasing estimated risk of moderate-to-high myopia at higher triglyceride-glucose levels.

This cross-sectional National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey analysis identified an association between a higher triglyceride-glucose index and moderate and high myopia in adolescents aged 12 to 19 years.
