The incidence of post-injection endophthalmitis is greater with corticosteroid implants and anticomplement therapies.

Heightened aseptic vigilance may be warranted with injections that necessitate larger gauge needles, modulate the immune response and/or are prepared from a vial.

Spontaneous IOL tilt following Yamane flanged intrascleral haptic fixation (FISHF) occurred in 11% of cases, most frequently within the first two postoperative weeks.

Lens tilt was observed across multiple haptic externalization techniques and IOL types, and the majority of affected eyes (86%) required subsequent surgical management, including IOL exchange, repositioning, or removal.
