Association of ultrasound-guided fascia iliaca compartment block with sedation and postoperative nausea and vomiting in elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty: A retrospective propensity score-matched cohort study.

This retrospective propensity score-matched cohort study included patients aged ≥ 60 years who underwent elective unilateral hip arthroplasty between March 2022 and March 2024.

The primary outcome was the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting within 24 hours postoperatively.

Secondary outcomes included postoperative nausea and vomiting requiring pharmacological intervention, early postoperative nausea and vomiting within 0 to 6 hours, opioid consumption, time to first analgesic request, post-anesthesia care unit (post-anesthesia care unit) stay, time to ambulation, and anesthesia-related adverse events.
