Background

Robotic total gastrectomy (robotic total gastrectomy) has been proposed as a promising alternative to laparoscopic total gastrectomy (laparoscopic total gastrectomy) for advanced middle-upper gastric cancer (advanced middle-upper gastric cancer) due to its potential to overcome anatomical challenges.

Methods

This retrospective cohort study included 1099 patients with advanced middle-upper gastric cancer who underwent robotic total gastrectomy/laparoscopic total gastrectomy at eight high-volume centers in China between 2015 and 2019.
