Purpose

To describe HPTN 094 study's peer navigation (peer navigation) intervention, implemented in 5 urban US cities among people who inject drugs (people who inject drugs) at risk for or living with HIV, including guiding theories, core components, navigator training, available services, implementation challenges, and implications for future peer navigation intervention research dissemination.

Methods

Were people who inject drugs with opioid use disorder (opioid use disorder) not receiving medication for opioid use disorder and were either at risk for HIV or living with HIV.
