Additional Medial Patellotibial Ligament Reconstruction Reduced Lateral Patellar Translation Compared With Isolated Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction Without Increasing Patellofemoral Contact Pressure: A Cadaveric Study.

No significant between-group difference was seen in proximal-distal translation.

Both techniques restored a physiologic pattern of mean and peak contact pressure with no significant between-group difference in mean pressure at any angle.

Peak pressure increased from baseline at 90° for isolated reconstruction (P-value = 0.05) and at 0°, 60° and 90° for combined reconstruction (P-value≤ 0.032).

Peak pressure was significantly higher after combined than isolated reconstruction at full extension (P-value = 0.021) with no other between-technique differences.
