The impact of intravesical Double-J stent configuration and dwell time on significant urine culture positivity in pediatric patients.

Median stent dwell time was significantly longer in patients with significant urine culture positivity compared with those without culture positivity (38.5 days [IQR 28.25-55.25] vs 27.5 days [IQR 21.25-36.75], p < 0.001).

Contralateral trigonal extension of the distal coil was associated with a higher rate of significant urine culture positivity compared with ipsilateral positioning (48.7% vs 27.6%; OR 2.49, 95% CI 1.16-5.32; p = 0.017).

Stent length mismatch was not directly associated with infection (p = 0.662).
