We examined associations between risk in pooled cohort equations and PREVENT and a composite of cardiovascular disease or cardiovascular death in SPRINT.

The 2025 AHA/ACC blood pressure (blood pressure) management guidelines recommend blood pressure treatment for 10-year cardiovascular disease (cardiovascular disease) ≥7.5% from the PREVENT equation, replacing the prior pooled cohort equations (pooled cohort equations).
